"Everything is a religious war these days"
interview with Rufus Wainwright: on life in contemporary america as a gay man:
The previous day, he says, a German journalist had asked him if he felt like a Jew in 1933. If anything, he said, he felt like a homosexual in 1933. "I think that the Americans who elected Bush into office are probably worried about terrorists, but enemy number one, their source of all evil, is gay people."
meanwhile...
after the nazi concentration camps were liberated, gay prisoners were not offered any justice.
the allied judges, who wrote the german constitution after the liberation, determined that the homosexual concentration camp prisoners were criminals, not victims.... not persecuted.
these men were therefore forced into silence by the shame of their situation. the feeling of isolation must have been deadening.
The Allied Military Government of Germany repealed countless laws and decrees.
Left unchanged, however, was the 1935 Nazi revision of Paragraph 175.
Under the Allied occupation, some homosexuals were forced to serve out their terms of imprisonment regardless of time served in the concentration camps.
The Nazi version of Paragraph 175 remained on the books of the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) until the law was revised in 1969 to decriminalize homosexual relations between men over the age of 21.
The continued legal and social prohibitions against homosexuality in Germany hindered acknowledgement that homosexuals were victims of Nazi persecution. In June 1956, West Germany's Federal Reparation Law for Victims of National Socialism declared that internment in a concentration camp for homosexuality did not qualify an individual to receive compensation.
Homosexuals murdered by the Nazis received their first public commemoration in a May 8, 1985, speech by West German President Richard von Weizsäcker-the fortieth anniversary of the war's end. Four years after re-unification in 1990, Germany abolished Paragraph 175. In May 2002, the German parliament completed legislation to pardon all homosexuals convicted under Paragraph 175 during the Nazi era.

'queer identity and transhuman futures'
Dale Carrico on 'queer identity and transhuman futures'
Donna Haraway, whose socialist-feminist "Manifesto for Cyborgs" is a key transhumanist text, once quipped that she "would rather go to bed with a cyborg than with a sensitive man."
For queers who are bored with a gay assimilationist vision of politics, limited to the provision of rights to marry, adopt children and join the army, I will recommend to your attention the fledgling movement of transhumanism,
For transhumanists who are looking for wider cultural contexts and connections, I will recommend to your attention a century or so of radical queer writing and activism.
Queer politics, as opposed to gay politics, is predicated on the assumption that what is not "normal" should nevertheless often be valued and celebrated. Queer sensibilities tend to be supremely suspicious of the gay vision of equality and normality, and are drawn instead to visions of diversity and proliferation.
Transhumanism as a critical project is a suspicion of all normative and ideological claims made in the name of nature and the natural
transhumanism is a hope that we can increase the sum of freedom by embracing the emerging possibilities for the genetic, prosthetic and cognitive modification of our bodies
Sexual freedom advocate Pat Califia has said that "being a sex radical means being defiant as well as deviant."

Anal Sex
Anal Sex in Accordance with God's Will
"Are you saving yourself for your wedding night? The Devil wants you to fail, that’s why he puts stumbling blocks in your way. But God wants you to succeed, and that’s why he has given us anal sex as an alternative to intercourse before marriage. Through anal sex, you can satisfy your body’s needs, while you avoid the risk of unwanted pregnancy and still keep yourself pure for marriage...."
